Sierra Mannarino was born in Barrie, Ontario, and moved to Sault Ste. Marie with her family at a young age. She spent five years at Algoma University, where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Social Work, and then went on to complete her Masters of Social Work at Laurentian University.
With five years of experience in the field of social work, Sierra has developed a strong foundation in utilizing evidence-based practices such as Collaborative Problem Solving, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Her approach is characterized by a trauma-informed, strength-based, and anti-oppressive lens, creating a safe and accepting space where clients can feel comfortable and vulnerable.
Sierra has extensive experience working with families, youth, children, women, and men, all with diverse mental health needs. She is dedicated to providing effective and compassionate care, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual. Sierra also adopts an empowerment approach, encouraging clients to harness their inner strengths and resources to overcome challenges.
Outside of her professional life, Sierra enjoys spending quality time with her dog, Charlie. She is an avid kayaker, enjoys boxing, and loves to immerse herself in a good book whenever she has the time. Sierra's diverse interests and passions contribute to her well-rounded and holistic approach to social work, enhancing her ability to connect with and support her clients.
